Why We Started Pet Sitting for Free
We first came across Trusted House Sitters by pure chance — scrolling through Facebook, looking to see if anyone nearby needed their dog walking or a free pet sitter. That’s when we saw an ad for it. And honestly, the idea just clicked.
The last pet we’d helped care for was our son’s — our lovely Grandpup — while he was at work. But when he moved overseas (with the dog, of course), it left a quiet little space in our days. We missed having pets around more than we expected.
So when we saw that Trusted House Sitters connected pet lovers with owners needing care, it felt like the perfect fit. A way to enjoy the company of animals again — while helping others who didn’t want to rely on dog kennels, catteries, or keep asking friends and neighbours for favours.
