Terms of Service for FreeHouseSitters.com

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) set out how you can use FreeHouseSitters.com. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, then you probably shouldn’t be here.
1. What we do
FreeHouseSitters.com connects homeowners with people willing to look after homes and pets without charging for their time. We don’t employ sitters, own the houses, or get involved in individual arrangements. We’re basically the noticeboard, not the boss.
2. Who can use the site
You must be at least 18 years old to use the site. If you’re younger, you’ll have to wait until you can vote, drive, and actually sign agreements.
You also agree not to:
- Pretend to be someone else
- Post anything illegal, offensive, or false
- Use the site to spam or harass others
- Try to hack or break the site
3. Your account
If you create an account, keep your login details secret. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, even if your cat walks across your keyboard and sends a message to someone.
4. Listings and content
Anything you post—text, images, listings—must be accurate and not infringe anyone’s rights. You keep ownership of your content, but you give us permission to display it on the site and in related promotional materials.
We can remove content or accounts that break these Terms without notice.
5. Our role in arrangements
We don’t vet sitters or homeowners, run background checks, or guarantee that anyone will turn up. All arrangements are between you and the other party. Be sensible: meet in person or video chat before agreeing to anything.
We’re not liable for:
- Cancellations
- Loss or damage to property
- Injury to people or animals
- Disputes between users
If you have a problem, deal with it directly with the other person or through the proper legal channels.
6. Availability of the site
We try to keep the site running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will be online 24/7 or that it will be bug-free. Sometimes we’ll update or change features without warning.
7. Termination
We can suspend or end your access to the site at any time if you break the Terms or misuse the service. You can delete your account whenever you want.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are big enough to matter, we’ll post a notice or email you. Keep checking back so you’re not caught out.
9. Legal stuff
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of England and Wales.
